Impish Interlude Dance - Live at RhythmWave (Burning Man 2024)

Description

An afternoon set at RhythmWave at Burning Man 2024. The title was "Impish Interlude Dance", where we moved with the impish spirit of this week in the desert: mischief, subversion, shapeshifting and play. Like the gargoyles which adorn the cornices of cathedrals, this spirit rides the edge between light and dark, the overworld and the underworld, and the sacred and the profane. We began with a movement exploration of lines and planes. In lines, we moved along the edges of the impeccable bamboo dance floor at RhythmWave, giving some structure and constraint to a usually freeform movement.
