It was Tuesday evening, we were hanging out listening to my dear friends O. Bee and Orazio on the Maxa car when someone reminded me it was time to go play on the 747 jet. This would be my 3rd time having the chance to play at Big Imagination. I have always loved planes and to play on a 747 that had captured my own imagination since childhood was even more trippy on the playa. This year it would actually be mobile as a giant art car, and this would be the first night ever it would be fully operational. My crew from Campi Camp jumped on our bikes and flew across the playa to make it on time and lucky us more friends were there to meet us right when we got to the stairs to enter. Total Burning Man unplanned synchronization! There was a huge line to get in - something I was not used to seeing at all at burning man but they could only let a certain number of people in at a time for safety reasons. Although we had a lot of people with us, the staff were kind enough to let us all in at once (sorry for all those we skipped) so I could make my start time. Inside the Jet where economy class used to be was a full on nightclub. The vibe was amazing and when I realized it was the Montreal legend and friend MightyKat who was playing before me it made total sense. The energy in the booth when I started and all throughout my set was electric, especially being surrounded by such an amazing crew of friends old and new, and on such an incredibly far out platform. The Big Imagination crew had made the entire top level of the 747 the DJ booth and had cut off the roof so when you looked out you could see all of the playa, deep playa and beyond. The sound and feeling were amazing and as I took over everything felt totally in synch. Although we all only had an hour that night I wanted to make the most of mine so although the journey was short I hope you will find it as sweet as it felt on that magical night….one of the best feelings I had in my 8 years at burning man and for me one of the best burns ever.
